General description

Downstream of the bridge, left hand bank for one field, to the weir, and upstream right hand bank through to Salehurst (Church Footbridge)

The river is smaller here, narrower, shallower and meanders noticeably, not having been straightened in the 1960s and 1970s, though upstream of the weir it’s a little deeper and slower. A water ideally suited to roving fishing, light tackle, single rod, and in places upstream  it is helpful to have a rope pegged to the bank top to aid access down to the river, which can be as much as 12 – 15 feet down, and a small sickle to trim vegetation.

The river here is noted for fish like Chub, but reputedly there have been catches made of occasional golden orfe!

Upstream of the bridge is Park Farm campsite and by agreement with the manager RFA members may park, maybe at cost The campsite users here are also permitted anglers on the river besides RFA members
